At the beginning of last week (Nov 11 2013) we started with a guest house that not only did not have doors and windows, it did not have more than one operating stool and shower, no kitchen, no electrical installations. But this team came to work and work they did! By the end of the week, the bedrooms had light fixtures and ceiling fans plus wall outlets, the bathrooms had light fixtures, the kitchen cupboards were installed, plumbing and electrical work done there, plus 25 gallons of primer had been applied to the walls and ceilings, and the windows were installed! We could see Jesus in this group as everyone worked together. We also enjoyed some good Haitian cuisine every evening...yum-m-m-m-m!
Welcome To Water For Life
The charitable mission program of Water For Life focuses on meeting the basic human need of physical water and equipping the people to provide for themselves. More importantly, Water For Life shares the message of "Living Water" with people who are spiritually thirsty for life in Jesus Christ. Jesus said, "If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believes in me, as Scriptures have said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water." John 7:37
Demonstrate the Love of Jesus Christ by loving, helping one another without discrimination and improving the quality of life through a democratic, honest and transparent governance.
Water For Life's mission is to provide clean drinking water, irrigation for farming opportunities, education and other means of assistance to the Haitian people in order to keep their bodies clean and free from diseases, raise healthy, happy children, and restore dignity and meaning to impoverished lives.
Water For Life stands for Christian values: Compassion, Integrity, Unity, Participation, Accountability, Respect, Diligence, Responsibility.
STATEMENT OF FAITH
Eph 2:8-10, For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
1 John 3:16-18, We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him? Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth.
